A 4G wave filter for wireless communication consists of up to 400 parts.
The visual inspection is very labor intensive and error prone. It's a challenging
task that requires not only automation expertise, but also customized machine visioning
and artificial intelligence algorithms. The customer has been looking for good solutions
without much success.
The customer chose us because of our strong R&D background and combined
expertise in automation and software product development. We designed a plug-n-play equipment
that can fit in their manual and automatic assembly lines. We developed various algorithms
within our SNAPCHECK software and achieved 100% inspection accuracy for 95% of the
tasks and more than 95% accuracy for the remaining. Going through more than 400 parts, the
equipment finishes the inspection in less than 16 seconds. The equipment reduces 4 human operators
in each assembly line.
Automatic Measurement & Compensation System (AMCS)
The existing solutions for on-site automatic quality control for CNC
manufacturing are expensive and don't sufficiently address the challenges for small parts.
The customer relied on workshop floor personnel to measure the parts with calibers and then manually
adjust CNC machines for tool wear. This is not only inefficient, but also error prone.
After extensively examining customer needs, Soteria Networks designed and
created a device that combines automatic part loading/unloading, optical measurement,
CNC tool wear compensation and data processing software. This device significantly reduced
the dependency on QA worker and machine technician and improved product quality and output at
the same time.
